A long-term communications strategy and initial brand refresh for this amazing National Park. My role included assisting in a number of stakeholder workshops, interviews and surveys to identify core beliefs and characteristics that would inform a unifying proposition and purpose.

We produced comprehensive guidelines to inform all future communications which would help to convey a huge sense of pride that the people of the park have.

One big challenge that the park has is how to encourage more of the disadvantaged local community to participate in and enjoy the park. This played a big part in the strategy.

Work produced at City ID

I consider myself honoured to have worked on a number of projects for City ID, planning and developing strategic projects that lead to better design outcomes for people, organisations and places.

City ID's methodology and rigour is something I hadn't before experienced and their approach to design is something I strive to continue to bring to every project.

Knight Architects, an extraordinary architectural practice specialising in the design of bridges and infrastructure, approached me to undertake a review of their brand elements and internal processes.

After a series of virtual workshops to uncover the underlying issues and to understand the culture and ambitions of the team; we developed a set of brand building blocks to communicate, internally, the essence of the practice and what it means to be part of Knight Architects.

These building blocks informed the development of a suite of templates to help establish an elegance and coherence across the practice’s visual communications. This was complemented with a comprehensive manual and a number of training sessions to help the team to be more confident in creating and maintaining effective reports and presentations.

The main objective was to improve processes and in turn enable the team to work more efficiently and allow them to focus on what they do best: making a real impact on people’s lives by transforming infrastructure through inspiring design.

Billings Jackson Design, a world-renowned industrial design firm based in London, New York and Chicago, approached me to undertake a review and refresh of their brand elements and communication tools.

After a series of workshops to identify the problem, understand the desire to change and uncover the barriers to that change; we developed a suite of tools and templates to create an elegance and coherence across the firm’s visual communications.

The main objective was to re-establish a connection between the quality inherent in the products Billings Jackson produce and the quality of their communications and to improve the efficiency of internal processes.

Freelance work for Future Kings

The roll-out of a refreshed brand, developed by Future Kings. My role was to build the brand guidelines in conjunction with redesigning all touchpoints from tickets and events literature to ad campaigns and signage.

Freelance work for Suffia & Co

As one of the largest environmental infrastructure groups in the UK, Pennon brings together Viridor, South West Water, Bournemouth Water and a number of business water brands.

Over the past three years I’ve been working, closely, with Suffia Khanan to produce a range of visual communications for the Pennon Group of companies. This is just a selection of the printed collateral, environmental graphics and internal communications that I have been involved in.

Bristol and Bath by Design was a 18-month project mapping and measuring the value and impact of design in the city region.

The project brought together UWE Bristol, Bath Spa University and Bristol University along with regional partners West of England Design Forum, Bristol Media, Creative Bath, the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and the REACT Knowledge Exchange Hub.

I worked with UWE Bristol to produce an interim findings report, celebrating the end of the research period, and then the comprehensive final report.

Every year, Millfield Senior School and Prep School each produce a book to showcase the highlights of the previous academic year.

This is a project that I first worked on in 2012 whilst freelancing for Mytton Williams. I have worked directly with Millfield on these lovely books every year since.

Work produced at Smith and Milton Bristol

A small selection of the many English Heritage projects I worked on while at Smith and Milton. Other projects included work for the Blue Plaques scheme, a family trail guide for Tintagel, and ongoing design and artwork for all print and digital advertising.

Work produced at Warren and Mahoney

A 250 page monograph to celebrate 50 years of outstanding work for one of New Zealand's leading architectural practices. A beautifully tactile coffee table book that was hailed as the benchmark for the production of architectural books in New Zealand.
